Author: Ben Brown Starport is another amazing book by the prolific author, John Bowers. This story is the first to venture away from the other galaxies he has created. With this novel, he explores new regions of space, as well as his own imagination. As a result, he has succeeded in producing another extremely entertaining tale.
A world economy hangs in the balance, held captive by its need for energy. The region that supplies the fuel is in upheaval. Terrorists, or freedom fighters, depending on your point of view, hold all the cards.
A president is backed into a corner. The leader is forced to make a decision that violates interplanetary laws.
Simmering under all of this, is political back stabbing, and religious extremism. Does any of this seem familiar?
This could be a news story from any region of today’s volatile world, but it isn’t. This is what makes John Bowers books so great. Although, set in the future, and many light-years from here, you can still relate to them as a reader. You’re not forced off into outlandish flights of unbelievable aliens, and ridiculous situations. Instead, he relies on the strength of his characters, and of his tale. Something some sci-fi writers often forget.
This book has all his hallmarks, action, sex, religion, and political intrigue. It had me on the edge of my seat to the very end, and I’m sure it will enthral all of you just as much.
I highly recommend Starport, to lovers of all books. No matter your preference, Starport has something for you all.

Author: Al Kalar Several story lines, but I had no problem following them.
Who'd have thought a story about politics could be this exciting? It must be the Bowers touch. We've even got military action as well as a phony media preacher, a slimy reporter, a semi-crooked union boss, a dirty Senator, and a host of other characters who could have been stolen from people on Earth today.
I though John had hit his peak with Star Marine. I was wrong.
So, hang onto your seat. It's going to be a wild ride over the edge of a cliff.
Note: I work for the publisher, but I don't have to say "nothin' if I don't wanna" (Lilly Tomlin as the snotty little girl). So, form your own opinion.
