About Phillip Hickey:

PHILIP HICKEY has practiced law in the trial and appellate courts of Washington State for over thirty-five years. For over fifteen of those years he litigated construction claims involving federal and state public works projects as a member of a large Seattle law office.
The Concrete Rocket was inspired by the daily view in the 1980’s of an office building under construction across the street from his office, rising to block his view. The book was completed in 2000 and was searching for a publisher when the events of 9/11 made the destruction of skyscrapers a reality that outclassed fiction. He presently lives in the Seattle area with his wife, Mary. Together they focus much love and attention on their three adult children and three grandchildren. |

The Concrete Rocket
After being knocked unconscious, Gus Foxxe wakes up to find himself alone on the top floor of a partially completed office building. At least, he thought he was alone until he heard voices of men planting explosives designed to bring down the building unless the owner pays a healthy ransom.
Observers are watching the building, ready to blow it down if they see anyone moving around. They have a “demonstration” planned, which will blow a construction shed off the top floor — the same shed that Gus is trapped in.
Gus has to get out of the shed before the demonstration, find out who is behind the plot, and hopefully save the building — and his own hide — before it all gets blown away.
